Paul Winslow and Dorman Followwill

Our culture today—and our egos—paint a portrait of leadership that resembles George Washington crossing the Delaware. The great general shows unflappable confidence and serenity and exudes a light of inner greatness, in contrast to the fearful men surrounding him. Don’t all of us who are leaders want to appear so majestic and exalted?

Authors Paul Winslow and Dorman Followwill, experienced pastors, paint a very different picture of leadership, one based on the truths of Scripture: Leadership in the church, they explain, “is leadership on its knees. It is not about power, positions, or titles—it is all about Jesus Christ and what He wants. And He often leads us on a rocky, uphill path.” We must lead by following Christ.

Based on the principles of God’s Word, Christ in Church Leadership shows you from the Bible the leadership model practiced by the servant-leader, Jesus Christ, and also provides practical advice based on candid discussions of real-life experiences. Chapter titles include:

  • “Elders: Calling, Selection, and Qualifications”
  • “What Elders Need to Know”
  • “Elders or Deacons: What’s the Difference”
  • “The Discipleship of Shepherds”
  • “Stewardship of the Lord’s Finances”
  • “Evaluation and Accountability of Godly Leaders”

This book is a helpful tool for anyone who leads in church, home, workplace—any situation that calls for leadership!
